My Approach

  • Start with questions: 
    • What is your current level of musical knowledge/ability? 
    • What are your goals (i.e., specific outcomes)? 
    • What do you want to learn (e.g., guitar, songwriting, recording)?
    • How do you learn best (e.g., lots of theory/connecting different pieces, dive right in to practical technique/analyze retrospectively)? 
  • Tailor lessons to the answers to above
  • Match speed of instruction/information to student’s current capacity for same
  • Questions highly encouraged! What? Why? How? When? 
  • Let student’s interest/curiosity steer instruction
